Signers of the Declaration of Independence: New Hampshire

Delegates to the Second Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Three of the 56 delegates who signed the formal break from Britain represented New Hampshire: Josiah Bartlett, Matthew Thornton and William Whipple.
